Brown Paper Packages Tied Up with String....

So I forgot to mention that recently I got meself a new laptop. Yeah it's pretty swanky. I especially dig the keypad that automatically lights up when this little sensor decides that the room is too dark. Does it surprise you to know that I look at my hands when I type? Probably not. I think almost everyone does. I remember when I was taking piano lessons I was told that a good pianist looks at the music and not the keys. That way  you can see what you need to play next. I was way more about memorizing the music and  then looking at my hands to play it. Now I'm terrible at sight reading music, but I tell you something I kick musics ass when I have it memorized. Anyways I'm getting off topic. The reason I mentioned the computer in the first place was because I wanted to blog a list of my favorite possessions, besides the computer of course. Unlike the computer these things may not have cash value, but rather are dear to my heart. Plus they have pictures! I don't know how long the list will be either, I'm just going to start with item one and stop when I don't feel like telling you about my shit anymore. Here we go.

My Pint Glass Collection
Pint Collection

Sure it's small, but what this accruement lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality. The glasses on the left are all old Atari games (from left to right: Missile Command, Asteroids, Battlezone, and Centipede) while on the left we have a "quadfecta" of vintage Miller High Life pint, given to me by my wonderful girlfriend Emma. I barely drink out of any of these because I'm afraid of breaking them, but if I had a bar all the glasses would be like this. Consequently, however, I'm sure all of my friends would steal them.

My Change Jug
Money Jug

I have no idea why I like this thing so much, but several people have asked me for it and I either ignore or refuse them. (Sorry Corbin) I found it in the basement of my ex's apartment building while I was doing laundry down there. I now use it to collect my change though I'll probably never fill it) and I also like to slap all the stickers I get onto it. It it ever did fill up with change, I'm sure I could not lift it.

My Alaskan Medicine Bag
Inuit Medicine Bag

This was my mother's and she kept it right next to her bed for as long as I can remember. It contains  a roll of birch bark, a letter, and a grizzly bear tooth. Now I keep it next to my bed and it reminds me of home and when I was a little kid, exploring the contents on the bag numerous times as if the contents would change.

My Cloth Map of Hyrule
Map of Hyrule

Super nerdy and awesome. I got this in a special collector's edition strategy guide for Zelda: Twilight Princess. This thing rules. It shows you the locations of all the heart pieces, but also all the poe souls, bugs, and items. It shows you the secret rupee chest and what color rupee is inside of them too! Chances are if you understood this paragraph you can appreciate how awesome this map is.

My Wakizashi
sword

This object, a gift from my friend Rachel is not only incredibly cool and totally useless, but it's also the only thing I own that's been inside me. If you're confused as well as disgusted it's probably because you are one of the few people that don't know that I stabbed this sword through my thigh when I was nineteen. It was a hell of a night and this is the best remind I have of that. Good stuff.

My Happy Flowers
Happy Flowers

I've received these things from a couple of people and I have no idea why I like them so much. Every time I look at them though I giggle a little bit. These things have brightened up my day on more than ten occasions and because of this they get to make my list of favorites. Awwww. *giggle*

My Leon S. Kennedy Hanging Poster
Leon Kennedy hanging poster

Just look at him. I'm pretty sure no better looking badass exists, except maybe Duke Nukem... and Christian Bale. Anyways I got this as a gift from my friend AJ and I love this thing not only because it contains a scene from my favorite video game, but it's also made of cloth so unlike regular posters it lasts a hell of a lot longer. Thanks AJ.

My Chicken Suit Domo-Kun
Domo Kun

Bet you've never seen one of these. I found this in the clearance section of the Sun Prairie Target. My very good friend Kelly works there and she bought the same one. We always wanted to go on a little photo shoot with our Domos but I moved to Duluth too fast. Hopefully someday our Domo's will be reunited and we will marvel in they're Japanesey splendor. Hooray!

My Jade Plant
Jade Plant

Another sort of makeshift family heirloom, anyone who's ever met my mother has probably been offered one of these. Jade plants are cool because if you cut off a branch and plant it it will start a new Jade plant, this is why it's earned "friendship tree" as a nickname. If you ever want to start a new little Jade plant just let me know and I'll snip a bit of mine off and give it  to you.

My Drinky Bird
Drinky Bird

Holy shit just LOOK at that thing! It's fucking awesome! Better than a lava lamp and makes friends and hippies twice as jealous, the drinky bird is something I just came into possession of. I could watch this thing for hours, which is scary because it actually drinks for days. If I could, I would dye my skin bright red and get a blue top hat, just so me and the drinky bird could hang out and do the stuff we love together.

Well those are my things. If you have any bigs I'll consider them, maybe. But why not give me some constructive feedback? What are some of your favorite things, be it in your room or elsewhere? Let me know and post some pics if you can. Goodbye!

  2. I thought about it, but the premise of the blog was things that are in my room. My bookcase is in the living room. I may amend it however.
